CBD, otherwise known as cannabidiol, is a naturally occurring cannabinoid (or compound) in the cannabis plant. The cannabis plant contains over 100 different kinds of cannabinoids, all with varying effects and uses. Two of the most well-known and prevalent compounds are CBD and THC.

THC is the psychoactive ingredient that produces a 'high' effect, where as CBD does not. CBD has grown in use and popularity due to the growing reserach and evidence that shows it can be used to improve general wellbeing. The CBD formulation is oil, but it is also available as an extract, a vaporised liquid, capsule and gummies. Food, drinks and beauty products are among the many CBD-infused products on the market too.

Cannabis is a plant that consists of three primary species: Cannabis sativa, Cannabis indica, and Cannabis ruderalis.

While hemp and marijuana are often referred to as “strains” of Cannabis, they do not qualify as either. In fact, they cannot technically be considered as plants at all; Hemp and marijuana are simply broad classifications of Cannabis based on their cannabinoid content.

“Hemp” is a term used to classify strains that contain 0.2% or less THC content in Europe (0.3% limit in the US), and is not classified as a controlled substance. THC limits are not harmonised across Europe. In Switzerland, the THC limit is 1% whereas in the Czech Republic, the THC limit is 0.3%.

“Marijuana" is a term used to classify strains that contain more than 0.2% THC (0.3% in the US).

Both hemp and marijuana can produce high amounts of CBD; however, the THC is the defining threshold for regulatory purposes. All products sold by Savage Cabbage are derived from legal hemp varieties of cannabis and contain no more than 0.2% THC.

CBD is generally well tolerated and safe to use, however as with all products, everyone's circumstances are unique and we recommend understanding the product and its effects before taking. The World Health Organization (WHO) states CBD as generally well tolerated with a good safety profile, however we recommend speaking with your doctor or general practictioner if unsure, pregnant, breastfeeding, or have any other prior medical conditions. 

It is best to talk to your doctor before taking CBD if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, have any medical conditions, or take any OTC or prescription medications or supplements.

CBD is considered non-toxic and it produces few side effects which when they occur are typically minor.

According to a report from the World Health Organization, “In humans, CBD exhibits no effects indicative of any abuse or dependence potential…. To date, there is no evidence of public health related problems associated with the use of pure CBD.”

CBD products are mostly legal  across Europe, however CBD policy is not harmonised across the EU. In most major countries, hemp products containing CBD are legal however be sure to check the regulations of the country that you are based in.

CBD typically shouldn't appear on a drugs test. However if you are using full spectrum products that contain a trace of THC, then this compound may return a positive test. It is legal for CBD products to contain THC amounts of less than 0.2%. This trace amount won't make you high and there are benefits as to why THC is present in some products types.

In full spectrum products, it is highly, highly unlikely that you will have any psychoactive effect from the THC in the product. The low level of THC (up to 0.2%) is simply to support the Entourage Effect between CBD and THC, which promotes greater efficacy on your Endocannabinoid System. In short, it makes your CBD product more effective through a lock and key mechanism between the compounds. Store CBD products in a dry, cool place away from direct heat and sunlight. Make sure the cap or lid is closed tightly after each use.

When using CBD oils, avoid touching your mouth with the dropper to prevent any contamination and preserve the quality of the oil.

Gently shake the bottle of CBD oil before use to ensure an ideal consistency and use the dropper provided to drop the oil under your tongue.

For maximum absorption, hold the oil under your tongue for 30 seconds to a few minutes before swallowing.

To determine how many drops to take, follow the recommended dose provided by the manufacturer or start with small dose to try first. Over time, you can increase the dose and frequency until you achieve your desired results.

Appropriate doses for CBD can vary greatly depending on many individual factors, such as:

-Body weight / Metabolism
-Body chemistry

The immediate effects of CBD oil usually take effect within 30 to 90 minutes, but long-term results may take several weeks to achieve.

You can also mix CBD oil into drinks and food, but this may affect absorption.

Having a full spectrum of compounds in these products supports the Entourage Effect, which improves the efficacy of CBD products due to the synergistic effect between various cannabinoids. In particular, the synergistic effect between THC and CBD allow for maximum efficacy in hemp products. 

Full Spectrum CBD are the closest to the plant in its natural form, and include a wide range of cannabinoids from the hemp plant. It also contains a variety of essential vitamins, minerals, fatty acids, protein, chlorophyll, terpenes and flavonoids as well as THC.

Broad-spectrum CBD is full-spectrum CBD without any THC (Tetrahydocannabinoid). It offers some of the entourage benefits associated with full-spectrum CBD, but the lack of THC means that this entourage effect is limited. This is an ideal option for those who are drug tested regularly and cannot consume even a small amount of THC. 

CBD isolate contains only CBD. All the plant matter contained in the hemp plant, including oils, waxes, chlorophyll, and more are removed, offering a finished product that’s CBD and nothing more. While these products offer some benefits of CBD, there is no Entourage Effect. These products are the cheapest and least beneficial.

Shipping is free for orders over €100. Orders below €100 will include a €5 delivery charge. All shipments come with insurance and tracking. 

Orders placed before 11am Central European Time will be dispatched on the same day. Orders after 11am will be dispatched the following working day.

We send all our orders using tracked parcel shipping for peace of mind. Our warehouse is based in the Czech Republic, and so delivery time will depend on where you are based. Due to Covid disruptions to logistics providers, we cannot guarantee delivery times. 

You can check the status of your order at any time. Tracking information will be sent to you via email once your order has been dispatched.

While we cannot guarantee we will be able to process the change, we will do our best to accommodate your requirements. We aim to dispatch all orders within 24 hours. We accept full refunds for products that are returned unopened and shipped back to us at your own cost within 28 days of purchase. Your acceptance of the terms of purchase means you agree to and understand the refund policy.

If 28 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange. To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.

In accordance with the type of products we sell, we cannot returns based on the products not producing the desired effect. All the products we sell are food supplements and thus we cannot guarantee any effects or benefits resulting from these. Your acceptance of the terms when purchasing means you agree and understand this.

Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.   If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within 28 days days.
